KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the planning and execution of R&D activities for GENEWIZ China
Build and supervise the R&D group of scientists and associates of multi-disciplinary fields
Lead the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies for company’s genomics and synthetic biology technology platforms
Oversee the development, validation, and commercialization of proprietary genomics products
Support expansion of company’s intellectual property portfolio
Provide timely and proficient solutions to technical issues from various operation groups
Participate in company’s external collaborations with academic and clinical partners
Coordinate with business and functional units in US headquarters and other global locations for cross-department business opportunities

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
•Ph.D. or equivalent degree in life sciences, including molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or biomedical sciences
•Minimum of 3-5 years’ industrial experience in a combination of technical and project management activities
•Solid background and expert knowledge of scientific principles and concepts
•Familiarity with next-generation sequencing and bioengineering technologies preferred
•Proven experience in leading and inspiring teams of highly educated scientists
•Strong time and project management abilities
•Effective communication skills for formal presentations, internal discussions and written documentation
•Language skills in both Mandarin and English
