Billions will be spent on advertising this year, and Product Ads is grabbing a piece of the pie. We are looking for exceptional software engineers to build our next generation, cost-per-click, Product Ad Network. Come help us build well-engineered software and systems that can handle billions of impressions with very low latencies.

As a seasoned veteran of Java and distributed, high performance applications, you will design and build best-in-class software systems - either built on existing services or built from scratch for speed of light performance. This platform must scale transparently for very large numbers of ads (100s of millions of ads) and provide high performance, redundancy, high availability and usability with low maintenance. You will work closely with other software engineers, QA and Support groups as well as with our business team to develop high quality products that solve important business and technology problems.

In addition to outstanding technical skills, you will operate with a pride of ownership, sense of urgency and a drive to imlpement the best possible solution to a problem and have the persistence to see it to completion.

This position is based at the Amazon CN headquarters in Beijing and will have a reporting line to Seattle. Some travel to Seattle will be required. This is the Day 1 of creating a completely brand new shopping experience on Amazon.cn and worldwide. Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science with 3+ years of industry experience.
- Strong proven ability in building high-performance, highly-available and scalable distributed systems.
- Design and coding skills in Java on Unix Platforms. (Equivalent languages such as C# or C++ accepted).
- Experience with object oriented design and development.
- SQL and data modeling skills.
- Proficiency with at least one of these scripting languages: Perl / Python / Ruby / shell script.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the Cost per Click Ad model and the Internet advertisement industry.
- Knowledge of HTTP Protocol, REST, XML, J2EE, JavaScript a plus
- Highly innovative, flexible and self-directed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Oracle
- Experience with search engine and indexing systems such as Solr/Lucene or Nutch
- Conversational language skills in both Mandarin and English
