About Us:
VMwares Cloud and Productivity Engineering team is seeking a Frontend Web Development Engineer to work on projects related to the implementation of the next generation of Opensource Tools and Services. As usage and contribution of Opensource software grows at VMware as does the requirements to build, manage, and audit VMware Products that use Opensource Software. The VMware Opensource Program Office uses the Cloud and Productivity Engineering organization to interpret and clarify requirements, design, implement, and rollout solutions that positively impact VMware’s ability to release On-Prem and SaaS products and services. If working on software and infrastructure that improves the ability for developers, engineering managers, release managers, lawyers, and security-officers to ship large and complex Products in dynamic and evolving landscape, then this job is for you.

You are expected to “see the big picture” and champion solutions that make sense across the entire engineering and non-engineering organization. You should be detail oriented with a focus on implementation excellence and poses the ability to implement solutions from requirements with minimal guidance. Experience and knowledge in the realm of Opensource development, contribution, auditing, and licensing is helpful but not required.

Our team is geographically distributed with members in Palo Alto, Shanghai, and Bangalore.

Responsibility:
Design and implement frontend systems, to improve our understanding of the use of Opensource and Thirdparty Software in VMware products.
Drive design, translate requirements, and review code
Develop UI automation tests

Required skills:
Proven programming skills
Interest and knowledge with developing web application from front end. Full stack will be a huge plus
Expert of HTML5/CSS3/
Knowledge of AngularJS or Django will be a huge plus
Knowledge with working under Linux environment and service management such as Apache, NGINX
Passion to contribute to UI automation tests
Proven verbal and written English interpersonal skills
Self starter and quick learner
Bachelor degree or above in related disciplines, including Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation and Applied Mathematics, etc.
1-3 years working experience
